Dining For Down Syndrome Sept. 2 at Pig + Fish

Supports Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk Buddy Walk
August 29, 2014

Pig + Fish Restaurant will host a Dining for Down Syndrome event Tuesday, Sept. 2, at the location on Rehoboth Avenue. The restaurant will donate 15 percent of the evening’s food sales to support the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk Buddy Walk and Buddy Fest.

Locals traditionally celebrate the day after Labor Day as the end of the summer season and start of the shoulder season. Buddy Walk organizers are encouraging diners to join the fun at Pig + Fish that evening and help a wonderful cause.

The restaurant will be festooned in blue and gold, and diners will receive party favors.  They simply eat, pay their bill and have fun; Pig + Fish will make their contribution on behalf of their customers.

The Buddy Walk funds local awareness programs such as Best Buddies, and local work programs such as Chimes Inc. in Millsboro. The goal of the Buddy Walk is to demonstrate the abilities of people with cognitive disorders so they are accepted and included as valuable members of the community.

The Buddy Fest will take place in Rehoboth Beach Friday and Saturday, Oct. 10 and 11. The Boardwalk Buddy Walk is set for 9 a.m., Oct 11. For more information go to www.boardwalkbuddywalk.com.
