Bob Wheatley will represent Sussex wisely

September 4, 2014

As a former candidate, I have been watching the Fifth District Sussex County Council primary race with particular interest. Both Brad Connor and Bob Wheatley are fine men. Both have worked hard, doing all the things candidates do to try to win votes. I think Bob Wheatley has the edge in terms of experience and qualifications, but there is something else about him that is important.

Bob Wheatley is the Democrat who can win in November. Fiscally responsible with socially moderate views, he is well-known and respected by Democrats, Republicans, and Independents throughout the district. In fact, some Republicans and Independents have already endorsed him and with good reason because his interest is in doing what is best for Sussex County first, regardless of partisan politics. Since he has not aligned himself with the lone Democrat on Sussex County Council, he will come to the office owing only the people of District 5.

So, fellow Democrats, to win Nov. 4, vote for Bob Wheatley Sept. 9.
