Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to meet Sept. 10 in Rehoboth

September 3, 2014

The Delaware Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network will hold a meeting at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Cancer Support Community in Rehoboth Beach. Anyone affected by or interested in pancreatic cancer is invited to attend.

PanCAN and its many volunteers help advance research, support patients, network with community outreach programs and lead advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill. Some of the events that the group sponsors are the 5K fundraiser Purple Stride; the PurpleLight Vigil, which raises awareness and increases networking; and the Pancreatic Cancer Advocacy Day, when PanCAN members gather by the hundreds to discuss with members of Congress the importance of increasing pancreatic cancer research funding.

For those who are facing or have loved ones dealing with a pancreatic cancer diagnosis, this group can provide a chance to meet others who have had experience with the disease. For those who have lost someone to the disease. PanCAN provides an opportunity to make a difference by raising awareness, increasing funding, and supporting research.

The Cancer Support Community is at 18947 John J. Williams Highway, Unit 312, Rehoboth Beach. For more information, contact Eileen Rosenthal at 302-644-2130 or email jwescott@pancanvolunteer.org. More details about the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can be found at www.pancan.org.
