Two-car crash ties up roads leading to Lewes

September 2, 2014

An 83-year-old Lewes woman was ticketed after failing to stop at a Lewes intersection Sept. 2.

Frances J. Stevenson was driving a 2010 PT Cruiser eastbound on Marsh Road and crossed into Wescoats Road at the intersection, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.

After crossing through the intersection, he said, the PT Cruiser was struck on the passenger side by a 2012 Nissan Maxima driven by Linda Nguyet Phuong Vo, 18, of Lewes, who was heading northbound on Wescoats Road.

The PT Cruiser ended up on its side following the collision, Fournier said.

Vo and Stevenson were treated for nonlife-threatening injuries at Beebe Healthcare; Stevenson was cited for failure to remain stopped at a stop sign.
