Tanger Outlets hosting Pink Trees of Hope campaign through Dec. 16

December 7, 2014

The Tanger Outlet Center in Rehoboth Beach will be hosting its 5th Annual Tanger Pink Trees of Hope program, which provides holiday gifts to families in local communities that have been financially sidetracked by a breast cancer diagnosis. The public is invited to participate by shopping for items on the families’ wish lists at Tanger Outlets through Tuesday, Dec. 16.

The Tanger Outlet Center will be displaying countertop Christmas tree signs with paper ornaments that can be removed with families' wish list items on them. The trees will be shown at Tanger Shopper Services at Seaside (suite 1600) and Midway (suite 218). Each countertop tree will have paper ornaments with specific gift requests, and the age and gender of the intended recipient.

The public may choose ornaments from the trees, purchase the indicated items, and return the unwrapped articles to either Shopper Services Center, along with the paper ornament. As a token of Tanger’s appreciation, everyone who participates in the Tanger Trees of Hope program will receive a free plush moose toy in red flannel pajamas with white snowflakes.

All the gifts will be wrapped by breast cancer survivors and volunteers from the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition Dec. 17. The gifts will be distributed to nine families throughout Delaware that have been financially sidetracked by a recent breast cancer diagnosis.

The Tanger Pink Trees of Hope program is a continuation of the partnership between the Tanger Outlet Centers of Rehoboth Beach and DBCC. DBCC Program Manager of Education and Survivorship Connie Holdridge expressed her gratitude to Tanger Outlets for their continued support for those facing breast cancer throughout the year.

She said, “Tanger is a strong partner, and we love working with General Manager Amy Norgate and Tenant Services Manager Linda McSwain. They are committed to the fight against breast cancer right here in Delaware. From the Pink Style Campaign each October through the DE-feet 5K each May, it’s great to know that together, we can make an impact on our community and make a difference in the lives of those facing breast cancer.”

The trees will be displayed inside the Tanger Shopper Services centers at Tanger Midway and Tanger Seaside. For more information about the Tanger Pink Trees of Hope program, call the Rehoboth Beach Tanger Outlet Center at 302-226-9223 or the DBCC Sussex County Office at 302-644-6844.
