(Lewes, DE) – Today, Cape May – Lewes Ferry officials announced that two FREE concerts will be held this summer on its spacious lawn located adjacent to the Lewes terminal building.  These concerts, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. and are free to the public, are the first ever concert series to be held at the Lewes terminal.

“The Lewes Terminal is such a wonderful venue for a festival, party or family event,” said Nikky Fisher, Lewes Terminal Manager.  “We’re thrilled to be able to host these family-friendly, memorable nights of music for the community.  With beautiful waterfront views and our investment in a large portable stage for our entertainers, our lawn is the perfect spot for a concert so come join us for the fun!”

Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the Ferry’s outdoor bar and grill, “On the Rocks,” or inside the Lewes passenger terminal.  Carry-on alcoholic beverages will NOT be permitted on the property. In the event of light to moderate rain, the show events will be held as planned.

Schedule of events

July 23: The Funsters (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)

The Funsters will bring what their name promises: the fun to Lewes Terminal! This 10-person band of lifelong buddies performs anything from Frank Sinatra to the Rolling Stones. With a song list so vast, the guys are able to get every audience member movin’ and groovin’ to something. Their energy is contagious!

August 13: The Comfort Zone Band (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)

The Comfort Zone Band gets groovy with their seven-person beach band. The group plays all along the east coast, and they know the Delaware coast well. The Comfort Zone Band delivers everything from sultry smooth jazz to up-tempo R&B and soul classics – it all depends what the audience is feeling!

Fisher noted that visitors and residents who planned to attend a concert should bring their own lawn chair or beach blanket to relax and have a great time on the terminal green.
