Events This Weekend in Delaware and Maryland

November 30, 2022

It's going to be a busy few days here at the Delaware and Maryland beaches, and throughout the region, as a wide selection of Christmas-themed events are scheduled in pretty much every town and city in the area.

There's certainly no shortage of things to see and do during this first weekend of December, so get outside and enjoy the holiday season over the next few days.

We've got a whole lot to tell you about, so let's get started!

Caroling on The Circle (Dec. 5)

This annual holiday tradition takes place on Monday, December 5, on The Circle in Georgetown.

Doubling as the Sussex County Food Drive, this event is held rain or shine. If there's inclement weather, it will be moved inside the nearby Georgetown Fire House.

The 2022 Caroling on The Circle is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., with plenty of holiday tunes on the program.

This is a free event but attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items for donation to the food drive.

Call 302-855-7700 for more information on this year's Caroling on The Circle.

Bethany Beach Tree Lighting and Holiday Happenings (Dec. 3)

Visit downtown Bethany Beach this Saturday, December 3, for a full day of holiday happenings that lead up to the resort's annual tree lighting at 5 p.m.

Scheduled activities for the day include a party with Santa Claus from 1 to 3 p.m., at town hall, tractor rides from 1 to 4 p.m., and the Southern Delaware School of the Arts leading the lighting ceremony at 5 p.m.

Lewes Lights Celebration/Tree Lighting (Dec. 3)

This combined event for 2022 will take place in Zwaanendael Park after the Lewes Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 3.

The Lewes Christmas Tree will be lit in the park, as well as the "Lewes Lights Switch" being turned on.

Lewes Lights is a grass roots, community-driven Christmas lights display that takes place at several homes and businesses throughout town.
