Events This Weekend in Delaware and Maryland

Some of the winter's most anticipated events take place this weekend in both Delaware and Maryland, headlined by the Seaside Boat Show in Ocean City and the African-American Film Festival in Rehoboth Beach.

If you're searching for something fun to do this weekend, either of these events would be time well spent with your loved ones.

Before you know it, spring will be here and the area will again be alive with all sorts of incredible weekend events and festivals. But for the middle of February, this weekend's highlighted events are pretty darn good!

While the two events mentioned above are the headliners, we do have a few other things to tell you about for this weekend as well.

Seaside Boat Show (February 17-19)

Delmarva's largest indoor boat show returns to fabulous Ocean City, Maryland, this weekend with nearly 150 exhibitors expected to take part in 2023.

Scheduled for the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, this event runs from Friday through Sunday and will again be a utopia for boat lovers.

Those planned to attend include boat dealers, dock builders, marina representatives, canvas experts, boat towing companies and representatives from the United States Coast Guard.

The show runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Sunday.

Tickets are $10 per day or $15 for a weekend pass. Children under 14 are admitted for $1.

Rehoboth Beach African-American Film Festival (February 17-19)

This three-day festival in February features the work of black artists and filmmakers and will be held at the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes.

The event features both documentaries and short films over three days.

Tickets are $10 per film with students admitted for $5.

Merchants Attic Indoor Garage Sale (February 18)

Delaware's largest indoor garage sale will be taking place this Saturday, February 18, at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes.

Sponsored by the Rehoboth Beach/Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce, this event will run on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Vendors are planned in areas that include antiques, collectibles, excess business inventory and household items.

Admission to the garage sale is free but donations are accepted if you would like to support the Chamber's event fund.
