Halloween, Craft Beer and Food Events Aplenty This Weekend in Delaware and Maryland’s Coastal Regions

October 21, 2020

It’s not the fall festival season we enjoy most autumns at and near the beaches, but there are a number of great events taking place this weekend in the coastal regions of both Delaware and Maryland.

From Bethany Beach to Ocean City, Milton and more, it’s a great chance to get outside and enjoy a good time at the Delaware and Maryland beaches before the weather turns cold for the winter.

Most of this weekend’s events continue to be outdoors, due to COVID-19 restrictions that are still in place in both states.

But while most things are taking place outside, we kick things off for this final full weekend of October with a first-ever event in the “Quiet Resort” of Bethany Beach.

And if you’re feeling hungry any time over the next few days, you’re definitely going to want to take note of this special event that’s being held at locations throughout the resort.

Let’s get started, shall we?

Local Cuisine Restaurant Week (October 21-25). This inaugural event in the “Quiet Resort” of Bethany Beach is being held over five days, with a dozen restaurants and three hotels planning to participate.

Restaurants will be creating special menus for the event, which is sponsored by the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Delaware Tourism Office and the Coastal Point newspaper.

Scheduled dates for this first-ever coastal event is Wednesday, October 21, through Sunday, October 25. Participating restaurants include Bethany Blues, the Crooked Hammock, Matt’s Fish Camp, the Cottage Cafe, Fork & Flask and several others.

This is Halloween Event (October 25). Hudson Fields near Milton will be playing host this Sunday, October 25, to a special Halloween themed event to benefit the front line workers at Beebe Healthcare.

Titled “This is Halloween,” the event includes a double feature of Halloween themed movies, as well as food, music, artists, vendors and entertainment options throughout the day.

Children are invited to Hudson Fields around 5 p.m., for a special trick-or-treating event, with several stations located around the event grounds distributing all sorts of treats and various goodies.

Scheduled food vendors include DaNizza Pizza, Kona Ice, Street Kitchen and Sea Hogg, with beverages provided by Revelation Brewery, Nassau Valley Vineyards, Brimming Horn Meadery and Beach Time Distilling.

The family friendly “A Nightmare Before Christmas” will be shown on the big screen beginning at around 6 p.m., with the John Carpenter Classic “Halloween” following soon after the completion of the first film.

Social distancing mandates must be followed during the event, with attendees required to wear masks while walking around the grounds. They can be removed once seated in socially distanced “pods” for the showing of the films.

This is a free event, but donations are accepted and will be given to Beebe Healthcare’s frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shore Craft Beer Fest (October 24). Nearly 20 craft beers will be available for public consumption at the 2020 Shore Craft Beer Fest, scheduled for this Saturday, October 24, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Sunset Park in Ocean City.

All tickets must be ordered online and in advance for this year’s event, and can be bought in groups of six. Food will also be available, which is sold separately and will be delivered to your table by the Street Kitchen food truck.

Live musical entertainment will be provided by Full Circle Duo, which will be playing throughout the three-hour event.
