Mid-Atlantic Sea Glass Festival Scheduled for This Saturday and Sunday in the Heart of Downtown Lewes
September wraps up this weekend in the coastal region, with autumn now upon us and a soon to be transition into the holiday season throughout the United States and the world waiting on deck.
But before we get there, remember than Funland on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk is still open for one final three-day weekend. This Friday, Saturday and Sunday is your last opportunity to enjoy the coastal Delaware tradition until Mother’s Day Weekend 2021, the traditional yearly opening for the amusement park.
And while you’re at the beach this weekend enjoying the final days of the Funland season for 2020, take the time to enjoy a few of the other things that are going on in the coastal region.

There’s always lots of fun things to do at the Delaware and Maryland beaches. As mentioned, we begin in Lewes this week and what is always a fun annual event on Shipcarpenter Street.
Mid-Atlantic Sea Glass & Coastal Arts Festival (September 26-27). While most big fall festivals for 2020 have been cancelled, the Mid-Atlantic Sea Glass & Coastal Arts Festival is still going on as planned this weekend, though with limited capacity.
Scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on both Saturday and Sunday, this year’s festival is again being held at the Lewes Historical Society complex on Shipcarpenter Street in downtown Lewes.
Due to continuing health restrictions in Delaware, $5 tickets are being sold this year for 90 minute time slots throughout the day. Or you can buy a full day ticket for $20. Children under 12 are admitted for free.
Timed tickets can be bought online or at the gate on the days of the festival, if they’re still available.
This is the 11th year for the sea glass festival, which will again feature dozens of sea glass and coastal artists in several different mediums, including wood, ceramics, photography, painting and several others.
New additions for 2020 include a lecture series, various exhibitions, a treasure contest and a special kid’s area.

“Field of Dreams” Fundraiser (September 28). Make plans to visit Lefty’s Alley & Eats on Monday, September 28, for a special fundraiser to benefit the hard working folks at Rehoboth in Bloom.
The classic film “Field of Dreams” will be shown on the big screen at Lefty’s outdoor theater, beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $60 per pod, good for up to six people, with popcorn and soft drinks included in the purchase price.
Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs for their comfort and enjoyment, as well as a portable radio that will allow everyone in your pod to hear the film. The film will be broadcast on 107.5 FM.
Masks are not required while watching the film, but attendees will be asked to put their masks on when entering Lefty’s.

Pet Walk on the Indian River Inlet Bridge (September 26). Interested in a fun experience with your four-legged best friend? Then head on out to Delaware Seashore State Park this Saturday, September 26, for a special experience for you and your pet.
Geared specifically for pet owners, this event includes a walk over the Indian River Inlet Bridge and begins at 12 p.m., on Saturday.
The cost is $4 per person and pre-registration is required.
