Whether or not it’s safe to go in the water will be determined Friday, Sept. 22, when Dewey Beach officials host a screening of the 1975 classic “Jaws” on the bay.
Festivities get underway at 8 p.m. on the Van Dyke Avenue bayside beach, where the public is welcome to enjoy a bonfire and bring blankets, beach chairs, refreshments and even inner tubes to watch the movie from the water – if they dare.
The possibility of such a movie night was discussed at previous marketing committee meetings, said Commissioner Paul Bauer.
“This is another great, uniquely Dewey idea,” Bauer said. “We are very fortunate to have a very creative marketing committee that continues to work together on making Dewey the place where everyone has fun. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!”
