The Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce’s annual Sea Witch Festival is slated to return the weekend of Friday, Oct. 29. It will be the 31st year for the festival, with the spooky theme being Lobster Monster.
This year’s weekend-long schedule of events is expected to include many fan favorites, such as the Tyke Bike Roll on the Boardwalk, trick or treating in Dewey Beach and Rehoboth Beach, a haunted bonfire in Dewey Beach, an indoor artisan and vendor show at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center, old-fashioned kids’ games on the beach, a dog costume parade on the Boardwalk and, of course, the famous costume parade that takes over Rehoboth Avenue.
The chamber is always coming up with new events and promotions, and this year will be no different. The most notable new attraction this year will be a new Sea Witch parade balloon. The festival’s original balloon, nicknamed Sally, was retired in 2019 after nearly two decades of service. The chamber has commissioned the making of a new witch, and if everything goes as planned, that balloon will make its debut in this year’s parade.
Some of the events are weather dependent. For the most up-to-date listing of events and details, go to the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce website, beach-fun.com.
