American Legion Auxiliary collects trash from roadway

May 3, 2021

American Legion Auxiliary members took part in a cleanup of Minos Conaway Road in Lewes April 19.

The unit has participated for over 20 years in the Adopt-A-Highway Program, and discovered that a large percentage of the collected debris was made up of recyclable materials, but also included potentially toxic and dangerous trash, such as hypodermic needles and oil-based products.

Unit 17 Auxiliary members are proud to take on its part of the shared responsibility to preserve and protect the local landscape, knowing that these efforts have a direct effect on the safety and quality of life in the area.
