Area Girl Scout camps offer a variety of programs

The Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council offers camps at four locations in Delaware and Maryland.

Summer camp is a place where girls can challenge themselves, learn new skills, try new things and have fun.

The council offers a variety of activities and programs to choose from including science, technology, space exploration, swimming, hiking, horseback riding, sailing, boating, making s’mores, outdoor survival and so much more. There are many camping options, including day, resident and weekend programs. Girl Scout camps are open to all girls entering first to 12th grades, not just Girl Scouts. Girl Scout camp is affordable and financial aid is available.

Camp Country Center in Hockessin will offer Science Dazzle from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 21-25, and Girls in Gear from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 19-23, and Aug. 9- 13.

Camp Grove Point in Earleville, Md., offers resident and day camps, weekend and weekday camps running June 20 through Aug. 13, with transportation available.

Camp Sandy Pines in Fruitland, Md. will offer Ocean Exploration and Outdoor Adventure from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., July 19-23, with optional overnight on Thursday.
