After opening Theo’s Steaks, Sides & Spirits earlier this year on Baltimore Avenue, restaurateur Chris Agharabi is opening Ava’s Pizzeria & Wine Bar right up the street.
Signs taped to the inside of the windows announce its pending arrival.
“Coming soon!” the signs read.
According to the restaurant’s Facebook page, Ava’s uses the freshest ingredients possible. “We use the finest cold press extra virgin olive oil, cook our potato chips to order, make our own dough and fresh mozzarella. Everything is made in house,” it says.
Ava’s will be located in the building that was home to Jakes Seafood for nearly three decades before it closed in 2018. In 2019, the space, 21 N. First St., was home to Steamin’ Blues Crabhouse.
This will be the third Ava’s. The original is in St. Michaels, Md., and the second is in Cambridge, Md.
