Barr provided reliable, dedicated service

February 2, 2024

As a longtime subscriber and co-founder of the Cape Gazette, I want to publicly thank Sandy Barr for more than 30 years of steady, reliable and dedicated service to the newspaper and her community as classified and, most recently, subscription manager. She also worked side by side with Trish Vernon, my co-founding partner, and me for 18 years when we were employed by The Whale, predecessor to the Cape Gazette.

Sandy has been an integral part of the Cape Gazette's success, steadfastly handling thousands and thousands of classified and legal advertisements and building many relationships along the way.

She has spent hours of every day taking ads over the phone and patiently helping people amazingly particular about their little, but important, word ads, many of them free.

At the top of my list of people with names most appropriate for a beach community, Sandy Barr is one of my dearest and most loyal friends. I wish her nothing but happiness and contentment in her retirement.
