Bayhealth announced Lauren Adams, clinical float pool nurse, has been selected as the inaugural recipient of the Dianne Halpern Nurse Leader Scholarship.
Adams was awarded the $10,000 scholarship in recognition of her exceptional commitment to nursing leadership and her interest in further expanding her education in the medical-surgical practice environment.
The scholarship honors the legacy of Dianne Halpern, MSN, RN, CNML, a respected nurse leader at Bayhealth who retired in 2023 after 37 years. Created to support the next generation of nursing leaders, the scholarship is awarded to BSN-prepared nurses in medical-surgical settings who are pursuing a graduate degree in nursing leadership.
Adams was selected from a competitive pool of applicants due to her impact as a frontline nurse, strong leadership vision, commitment to learning and dedication to clinical excellence and mentorship. Scholarship recipients must be Bayhealth team members in good standing and agree to remain with the organization for at least one year following the award.
“Lauren exemplifies the kind of nurse leader this scholarship was created to support,” said Rosi Wurster DNP, RN, MPH, NEA-BC, FACHE, Bayhealth chief nurse executive. “We’re honored to invest in her continued growth as she advances her education and deepens her impact on patient care and nursing leadership at Bayhealth.”
