With respiratory illness season already underway, Beebe Healthcare will again host free influenza vaccination clinics throughout Sussex County, beginning Saturday, Oct. 5 and ending Saturday, Nov. 23.
Influenza vaccinations are recommended for everyone 6 months and older, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC also recommends that people should get vaccinated before flu activity begins in their community.
“Receiving the influenza vaccine this fall is one of the best ways to protect yourself, your family and the community from the flu,” said Bill Chasanov, DO, infectious disease physician and chief health systems design officer at Beebe. “This community service is something that the Beebe team is very proud of, and one of the many benefits that our community outreach care team provides to deliver high-quality care to our Sussex County community.”
Community flu vaccination clinics are free of charge, and appointments are not required. Flu vaccines are available to adults age 18 and older. Times are subject to change. For the most up-to-date information on flu clinic locations, times and FAQs, go to facebook.com/BeebeHealthcare. Beebe has also set up a Flu Hotline, 302-291-6FLU (6358), for community members to call for the most up-to-date clinic schedule.
Anyone interested in donating to assist those most in need can direct donations to Beebe Medical Foundation’s Population Health Special Needs Fund. Contact Beebe Medical Foundation at 302-644-2900.
