Beebe Healthcare team donates to RJ’s Christmas Tree Drive

December 28, 2019

For the second year, Beebe Women's and Children's Services partnered with RJ Scott, a first-grader at Lord Baltimore Elementary School, to collect new children's toys and clothing for kids who might not get anything under their tree.

RJ's Christmas Tree Drive was brought to Beebe by Women's Health Nurse Brooke Talbot, who has been working with RJ and his family for several years.

Also contributing were Beebe Public Safety and Lewes Police Department, which donated seven bicycles.

"RJ and his family work to collect the names of kids and families who need help around the holidays. This year we had nine families. I then bring the lists to our team at Beebe and we go shopping," said Talbot.

RJ started the holiday event after learning that not everyone got presents under the tree at Christmas.

"I was really sad about kids who didn't get anything, and I wanted to help," RJ said. "It makes me happy to think of them opening their presents Christmas morning."
