Beebe’s first baby of 2022 was Donovan Chad Wyatt, born to Stephanie and Trip Wyatt at 5:16 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 1. He weighed in at 6 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches long.
Every year, Beebe team members take up a collection to provide a gift basket of baby-friendly hospital items to the first baby’s family. This year, Chloe Bartholomew, RN, her family, and members of the Faust family took the lead on compiling the basket.
Baby-friendly hospitals like Beebe ensure every woman delivering a baby knows the importance of breastfeeding and learns not only the benefits of the practice, but also how to initiate breastfeeding immediately after delivery. Baby-friendly hospitals initiate skin-to-skin contact immediately after delivery or C-section, keeping moms and babies in the same room and supporting moms with breastfeeding through lactation consultants.
Beebe is also recognized by the National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program as a Safe Sleep Champion for its commitment to best practices and education on infant safe sleep. The National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program was created to prevent sleep-related infant deaths due to accidental suffocation.
