Bethany Blues Karaoke Contest to start Jan. 15

January 9, 2019

The Bethany Blues Karaoke Contest will return to Lewes beginning with signups at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan 15. The best voices in Sussex County will go head to head for all the prizes and glory over the course of six weeks. Those who think they have the chops to rise to the top can come out to Bethany Blues of Lewes and sing their hearts out.

“We did a similar contest in the fall, and it was very popular and just an all-around good time. We run our regular Tuesday specials that night, so people can come in and enjoy TNT Tuesdays, which includes $3 tacos, $6 skillet nachos, and $6 totchos (tater tot nachos), and $5 margaritas and $6 rye-garitas,” said Nicole Gianella, Bethany Blues catering manager.

Each week, up to 12 singers can sign up to compete. Signups begin at 6:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis, and the contest kicks off at 7 p.m. Two people will advance to the finals each week for a total of 10 competitors in the sixth and final week. There are prizes for the two finalists each of the first five weeks, and they will vary. Then there is the big kahuna at the end of the competition for the singer who reigns supreme. This time around, the winner will nab two tickets to the Beer and Music Festival at the Convention Center in Atlantic City, N.J. The prize package includes the ferry ride over as well as an overnight stay at the Sheraton. This prize is worth over $500, and will provide a rocking good time.

For those who love to sing and compete, this is a great opportunity to show off what they’ve got. And it’s also just a fun night of entertainment and revelry. All are welcome to come and vibe out with local novice singers at Bethany Blues of Lewes where the fire will be roaring, tacos and nachos will be flowing, and singers will be belting out their favorite tunes.
