Betty R. Ellison, Bethany Beach retiree

Betty R. Ellison, 92, of Bridgeville, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. She was born in Stanton, April 7, 1923, daughter of the late Clarence S. and Clara (Renshaw) Reed.

Mrs. Ellison graduated from Conrad High School. She enjoyed a 33-year career with the University of Delaware and later worked for the town of Bethany Beach, retiring after 20 years.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ellison was preceded in death by her first spouse, Albert Morgan, and her second spouse, Nowland B. Ellison; two brothers, Clarence Reed Jr. and John Reed; and a sister, Jean Wittenberg. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Morgan of Bridgeville; a granddaughter, Christine Whaley and her husband John of Bridgeville; three grandsons: W. David Conner of Virginia, Michael Conner of Bridgeville and John Conner and his wife Victoria of North Dakota; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Brown and her husband Herbert of Newark; and a niece, Dee Hook and her husband Len of Florida.

Memorial Services will be held Monday, May 2, at 2 p.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, where friends may visit beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Ellison's memory to a charity of your choice.
