Beware of offshore wind turbines

February 2, 2024

I am always amazed when people demonstrate a lack of understanding of how corporate America operates. Companies do not give away millions of dollars without expecting a return on their investment. Wind companies do not care about our seashore or how their devices would affect the tourist industry, the environment or property values. They care about profits. It is hard to believe in an area where so much depends on the tourism industry, building a series of wind turbines in the ocean would be an option. Also, it is not just the actual wind towers that will change the skyline of our coast, these turbines require a large infrastructure of power lines and stations. Exactly where will that infrastructure be placed? Maybe on the last remaining green areas of Sussex County or near your neighborhood.
