The Blessing of the Fleet ceremony was held May 8 at Fisherman's Wharf in Lewes. The Blessing of the Fleet is performed to ensure a safe and bountiful season. A wreath laying ceremony is also performed in remembrance of the fallen mariners. The Rev. Father Tom White, pastor of St. John the Baptist in Milton, performed the blessing.
