Events set at both ferry terminals Sept. 10

Brews by the Bay tickets now on sale

August 27, 2016

Brews by the Bay is back for its third year. Hosted by the Delaware Brewers Guild and the Garden State Craft Brewers Guild, Brews by the Bay is a two-state day-long celebration of the fantastic craft beer the two states have to offer.

On Saturday, Sept. 10, over 40 breweries from New Jersey and Delaware will be offering samples and tastings beginning at 11:30 a.m. Start the day on the New Jersey side at the Cape May Ferry Terminal, then cruise the ferry over to the Delaware side, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Lewes Ferry Terminal.

Due to differing laws in the two states, the New Jersey side is limited to 15 four-ounce pours - about the size of a large growler. Additional tickets will be available for purchase, but heading over to the Delaware side, it's unlimited samples all evening!

Many breweries will be supplying one-off brews, limited releases, small batch tastings, and award-winning brews from both states.

In addition, Cape May Brewing Company of New Jersey and Dogfish Head Brewery of Delaware will be taking over the taps on the Cape May-Lewes ferries. The two guilds will be collaborating on a special brew, only to be found on the ferries. This exclusive concoction will be available one day only, at Brews by the Bay. This brew will be a nod to the Dutch nautical history of both Cape May and Lewes. It will be a Dutch golden ale featuring lemons, hibiscus, lemongrass and green cardamom.

A ticket gets admission to both sides of the event - or purchase a ticket for only one side of the bay. No beer festival is complete without a souvenir glass, which is included in the ticket. There will be excellent food from local restaurants and food trucks available for purchase, as well as yard games, live music, and spectacular views of the Delaware Bay. While, obviously, one must be over 21 to drink, it's a great day for the whole family - including favorite four-legged friends! Remember to B.Y.O.C. (bring your own chair), valid ID, lather on that sunblock on that late summer day, and prepare to have fun with hundreds of other craft beer lovers. This event will run rain or shine!

Tickets will be on sale the day of the event at the gate. Full Experience ($70), Delaware Only and New Jersey Only ($40) will be $5 more at the door. See brewsbythebay.ticketleap.com for tickets and more information.
