The Caesar Rodney Chapter of the Delaware Society, Sons of the American Revolution, honored one of the patriots of the Revolutionary War July 4, at Christ Episcopal Church in Dover.
The grave of Dr. Charles Ridgely, Esq., was marked with a stone memorial. Ridgely, who lived 1738-1835, was a physician and a lawmaker before and during the Revolution, including service as a member of the Boston Relief Committee and as a delegate to the State Constitutional Convention in 1776.
Several direct Ridgely descendants who are past or present members of the Sons of the American Revolution were in attendance at the ceremony.
