Cape Gazette feels the chill in Canada for Memorial Day

July 28, 2017

On a typical Memorial Day, most anyone would travel to the beach to enjoy the warmth, sunshine, and sandy beaches. This Memorial Day Charlie and Mary Dickson of Rehoboth Beach had something different in mind. They traveled north to Canada to enjoy the chilly temperatures and brisk cold winds. While aboard the Brewster Ice Explorer they experienced riding on the 1200-foot-thick, icy slope of the Columbian ice field. Here they are pictured atop the Athabasca Glacier in the Canadian Rockies. They enjoyed returning to Rehoboth where they could get the hottest edition of the Gazette!
