The Cape Gazette hosted its inaugural Run and Fun Fest May 13 in Nassau Commons west of Lewes. The event featured a 5K run/walk followed by an all-day, family-friendly fete with numerous kids' activities, vendors, live music, a pickleball tournament and a beer garden featuring brews from several local craft breweries.
Over 50 sponsors and vendors came together to bring the free-admission community event to life. Using remaining proceeds from the event, the Run and Fun Fest will present a $12,000 donation to the Harry K Foundation, whose mission is to alleviate food insecurity in Delaware.
“I can't say enough about how great everything turned out with our first event,” said Chris Rausch, Cape Gazette publisher. “Thank you to all of our sponsors, vendors and volunteers who put their resources, time and energy into making the day such a great success. It exceeded expectations on every level.
