The Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation announced that Jessica Gordon and Julie Stevenson have joined the Lewes-based nonprofit, sharing the role of development director. The position was formerly held by Alyssa Titus, who recently became director of marketing for Schell Brothers.

Gordon, development director, has extensive experience in fundraising and communications. She was a development officer for Beebe Medical Foundation where she assisted with the design and implementation of an $8 million capital campaign. More recently, she co-founded Minds Over Matter Initiative which partners with schools, organizations and companies to create mutually beneficial programs based on mindfulness principles. She also writes and edits feature stories and briefs for Delaware Beach Life magazine. Gordon and her husband John live in Lewes and have two daughters who attend elementary school in the Cape Henlopen School District.

Julie Stevenson, development associate, has extensive client service and community outreach experience. She is currently the office manager of Lewes-based One Call Services. She previously worked in Wilmington as a paralegal assistant with attorney Steven J. Stirparo and as human resource associate with The Siegfried Group. She has served on the board of the Gosling Creek Homeowners Association, taught Sunday school at Bethel United Methodist Church and was the financial coordinator for Mothers of Preschoolers. Julie and her husband James live in Lewes with their two sons, also students in the Cape District.

CHEF President Jeff Gordon said, "We are pleased to welcome Jess and Julie as our new development team at CHEF. They bring impressive skill sets and extensive community networks which will be very helpful to us as we continue to expand our base of supporters in the Cape community. We also wish Alyssa Titus great success with Schell Brothers and appreciate her outstanding efforts on behalf of CHEF and the Cape Henlopen School District."

Gordon and Stevenson will focus on continuing to build familiarity with and support for CHEF initiatives, including Winter Jam, its signature fundraiser held in January.

CHEF is celebrating its 10th anniversary of partnering with the Cape Henlopen School District to inspire learning and prepare students for healthy, productive lives in a diverse global society. CHEF has to date raised over $300,000 to support teacher excellence grants, STEM programs, arts education and training, character and career development, and programs which help limited-income students reach their full potential.
