Cape High Class of 2025 captured by drone

Photography students plan, map out aerial shot in annual school tradition
November 12, 2024

It’s not the fall season at Cape High without the annual drone-photo capture of the senior class on the turf at Legends Stadium, this year spelling out the number “25” to represent their graduating year.

This is the 11th year that computer art and photography teacher Jason Fruchtman’s class has made the keepsake photo for publication in the annual yearbook.

To set up the photo, students map out the field and create a grid to mark out the number 25 in straight lines. Photography students planned and calculated the area given the number of students participating, then taped areas where seniors were to stand.

Everyone came together Oct. 30 to line up and form the number 25 with a circle around it, while junior Lauren Marchetti flew a drone to take the photos and videos, and her photography classmates documented the event from the ground.
