Cape High students receive summer music program scholarships

May 28, 2019

Two Cape Henlopen High School sophomores were recently awarded merit-based scholarships to the prestigious New England Music Camp located in Sidney, Maine.

Bridget Knutsen was the only individual to receive the Jackie Kimpel Scholarship for Musical Theatre, and Jacqueline Johnson was one of only a few to receive the Mary M. Collins Scholarship for Voice. Both scholarships were in the amount of $1,000.

Both Jacqueline and Bridget are active members in a variety of organizations at Cape Henlopen High School, including Cape Chorale, theatre and band programs.

The New England Music Camp is a three-week program that takes place during the summer, and is designed to provide campers with an individualized schedule of classes and recreation to meet their interests and personal needs. The professional staff on-hand gives campers opportunities for daily coaching and side-by-side instruction.
