Gov. John Carney formally extended the Public Health Emergency order Feb. 3 for another 30 days.
Under Delaware law, Public Health Emergency declarations must be renewed every 30 days. Carney’ s 20th extension comes after President Joe Biden released a statement Jan. 30 saying his administration will terminate on May 11 the public health and national emergencies first declared in 2020 by the Trump administration. House Republicans in Congress passed a Pandemic is Over Act Jan. 31 to immediately end restrictions, and the bill moves to the U.S. Senate for action.
