Catherine 'Jane' Bartlett, DuPont Co. retiree

November 5, 2014

Catherine "Jane" White Bartlett, 85, of Wilmington, passed away Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at the Lorien Riverside Nursing Home in Belcamp, Md.

Jane graduated from P. S. DuPont High School and worked at the DuPont Co. for nearly 30 years. Upon her retirement, Jane resided in Rehoboth Beach, which was her dream - to live at the beach ! There were many celebrations at Mom Mom Jane's house and there was "always room for one more." She had many friends and she was a great friend herself.

Mom was artistically gifted. She painted numerous oil paintings, as well as sneakers for everyone, which was the fad for a time. Jane was also an avid knitter, which she won ribbons for, and a very avid Phillies fan. She also helped with the Rehoboth Jazz Festival, which grew partly because of her know-how.

Her greatest loves were her mother and father, Catherine Mary Riley White and Thomas White Jr.; her sister Charlotte (White) Jarrell and Bill had also passed. Jane is survived by her three siblings and their mates, Eddie (Betty) White of Wilmington, Anna (Jack) Lecates of Rehoboth, and Thomas White III of Lewes; and by her three children, Charlotte Eihinger (Paul), Linda Strusowski (Mike), and Buzz Bartlett (Debi), who provided her with 10 grandchildren. They are Paul, Chris, Amanda, David, Rebecca, Michael, Ashley, Shaun, Elizabeth, and Daniel. She also had five great-grandchildren.

We would also like to thank all who have aided us and showed their kindness to our Mother over these past years. Thank you.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m., at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Old Drawyers Cemetery, Odessa.
