Donna and Roger West of Harbeson recently celebrated 30 years of marriage at Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita in Riviera Maya, Mexico. They enjoyed participating in a temazcal, a spiritual Mayan ceremony lead by a Mayan shaman in a cement structure with red hot lava rocks, spiritual chanting and hot steam filled with fresh local herbs. A champagne cruise was set for the exact time of their wedding vows, and tequila shots were enjoyed after the ship’s bell was rung at 5 pm followed by more champagne.
The happy couple also enjoyed two excursions to see Mayan ruins and a boat ride to Isla Mujeres and Tulum, a large Mayan walled city.
Donna was sure to show off one of her favorite hometown restaurants. She wore her El Dorado t-shirt proudly as she and Roger took some down time to read their Cape Gazette.
