Celebrating family in Punta Cana with the Cape Gazette

May 5, 2019

In March, Donna and Frank Pagano, accompanied by their son Brian, traveled to Punta Cana to celebrate their 47th wedding anniversary and Frank’s 70th birthday.

“Punta Cana is a very interesting place and we enjoyed our stay at the 5-star resort, Iberostar Grand Bavaro,” said Donna. “The people are so warm and friendly and made us feel like family. We travelled to a place called Monkeyland where squirrel monkeys come to you to eat fruit from bowls you are given. They are trained to be friendly and it was an amazing experience. Also, we heard a presentation about the processing of cocoa beans and coffee beans; the coffee there is wonderful. We also went to a Larimar Museum. Larimar is a rare variety of pectolite or semi-precious stone, found only in the Dominican Republic. Its color varies in a range that contains white, light blue, teal and deep blue. The colors remind you of the sky and the sea. My husband and son also enjoyed a snorkeling adventure where they saw sharks and stingrays right below them. It was a great trip and we hope to return again.”
