CHEF Friend of Cape program seeks donations

October 31, 2018

Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation invites community members to join its Friends of Cape effort to support a wide variety of unfunded and underfunded kindergarten to 12th-grade programs for the Cape Henlopen School District.

During the 2017-18 school year, CHEF – a strategic partner of the school district since 2006 – invested more than $25,000 in five key program areas: math and science/STEM; classroom resources for teachers; the arts; diversity and inclusion; and funds for homeless and limited-income students.

This support is essential, because the district receives no state funding for programs like the ones listed above.

Friends will enjoy a number of benefits, including an annual reception at a Cape school, Friend of Cape decal and newsletter with a $50 Friend-level donation. A Family Friend-level donation of $100 includes Friend benefits plus a CHEF Champion tumbler. A Platinum-level donation of $250 includes the Family Friend benefits plus two tickets to CHEF’s Winter Jam fundraiser. Contributions in any amount are appreciated.

To become a Friend of Cape, go to www.chef-cape.org and click on the Be a Friend of Cape button, or mail donations, payable to CHEF, 1270 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958. CHEF is a nonprofit 501c3 organization, and contributions are tax-deductible.

Funds raised are shared with all Cape schools and at all grade levels.
