CHEF grant provides transportation funds for New York theater trip

June 19, 2016

Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation gave a $1,000 grant to provide transportation for more than 50 students and teachers to Arthur Miller’s play “The Crucible” on Broadway. Cape Henlopen High School English teacher Eileen Springfield organized the trip so students could see the transition from page to stage for an American classic which she says, “is one of the seminal pieces of our American literature curriculum.”

She thanked CHEF “for helping make this trip happen for our kids, many of whom would not have had this experience otherwise.” CHEF is a nonprofit organization which partners with the Cape Henlopen School District to fund programs which inspire learning.
