Children & Families First Delaware held a movie screening and a panel discussion Feb. 1 at the Milton Theatre, titled “A Night of Hope.”
The screening was “Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope.” The one-hour documentary, Resilience, reveals that toxic stress caused by adverse childhood experiences can trigger hormones that wreak havoc on the brains and bodies of children, impacting them for life, and increasing their risk of disease, homelessness, prison time, even early death.
After the screening, there was a panel discussion and a question and answer session about preventing childhood trauma, treating toxic stress, and improving the health of future generations.
