"Safely To Earth: The Men and Women Who Brought the Astronauts Home," by local author Jack Clemons, is the 2019 national recipient of the first-place award for autobiography or memoir from the National Federation of Press Women.
Clemons’ book, a memoir of his time working on NASA’s Apollo and Space Shuttle programs, was published by University Press of Florida in September 2018. The book also won first place in the same category in the Delaware Press Association Contest earlier this year.
The national award will be presented in June at the NFPW Professional Communications Conference in Baton Rouge, La.
