David J. Baues, avid beekeeper

David J. Baues, 75, of Ellendale, formerly of Royersford, Pa., passed away in the afternoon hours, Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020. He was the husband of Rosemary (née Abruzzo) Baues. He was born May 6, 1944, in Queens, N.Y., son of the late Theodore R. and Lillian A. (née Jablon) Baues.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, David was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. After many years as a sales representative, he retired from Vanguard May 10, 2010. David was also an avid beekeeper with his wife and a highly regarded educator about the honeybee. He was well known in area farmers markets for 20 years as Baues' Busy Bees and was a member of the Lewes Beekeeping Club.

In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his siblings: Robert W. and Dennis Baues. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Lillian S. “Lili” (D. Allan) Gray and Heidi D. (Kerry A.) Mull; and his sister, Virginia Hailu.

The public is invited to attend a gathering from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Final Services with Military Honors will be held Wednesday, May 6, at 2 p.m., at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.
