Delaware state chamber sets annual dinner Jan. 29

January 14, 2024

The Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s 187th Annual Dinner is set for Monday, Jan. 29, at the Chase Center on the Riverfront, Wilmington.

With more than 1,100 business, community and government leaders, the chamber’s annual dinner is Delaware’s premier business event and has always been the place to be for high-level networking.

The dinner will feature the presentation of the state chamber’s highest business honor, the Josiah Marvel Cup, and keynote speaker Hervé Hoppenot, chairman and CEO of Incyte.

A biopharmaceutical company, Incyte was founded in 2002 in Wilmington. Since that time, it has grown into a global organization with more than 2,400 employees and a robust portfolio of treatments in oncology, and inflammation and autoimmunity that are delivered to patients worldwide. Innovation is at the core of Incyte’s relentless pursuit to follow the science, and find answers to manage rare and hard-to-treat diseases.

Hoppenot joined Incyte in 2014 as president and CEO, and was appointed to chair the board of directors in 2015. During Hoppenot’s tenure, Incyte revenue increased from $511 million in 2014 to $3.4 billion in 2022. The company has tripled the number of clinical candidates in its portfolio, expanding beyond oncology to include research and development in inflammation and autoimmunity. With global headquarters based in Wilmington, Incyte has expanded geographically and has operations in North America, Europe and Asia.
