Delaware State Federation of Women’s Clubs holds meeting

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs Delaware State Federation of Women’s Clubs President Rita Hollada welcomed members to the fall board meeting Oct. 21 at Wild Quail Country Club in Wyoming.

In observance of Purple Thursday and October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, members wore purple in support of survivors and advocates of ending domestic violence.

The guest speaker was Mark Casper from Tech For Troops, a national nonpartisan veterans organization bridging the digital divide. Tech for Troops provides affordable, refurbished computers to in-need veterans and children of veterans as well as training and opportunities for networking. GFWC DSFWC members donated used electronic devices and cellphones to the project.

GFWC is the largest women’s volunteer organization nationally, and its members are dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.
