Dewey Beer Company ranked No. 1 brewery by Delaware’s beer drinkers
According to data from the popular beer-rating app Untappd, Dewey Beer Company was ranked the No. 1 favorite brewery in the First State by Delaware drinkers. A similar number-crunching exercise took place more than three years ago with Dewey Beer Co.
“This recognition means a great deal to our brewery and our team,” said co-owner Brandon Smith. “As an independent brewer, we must pour our heart and soul into every can, barrel and growler, and we’re so appreciative of our passionate and loyal consumers who have chosen us as their brewery of choice.”
“This is very humbling when I think back to the start of our company,” said head brewer and co-owner Mike Reilly. “We’ve really come a long way, and our customers have been a part of that journey and we’re happy to be celebrating along with them.”

Dewey Beer Company has two locations, the flagship restaurant at 2100 Coastal Highway, Dewey Beach, and the production facility at 21241 Iron Throne Drive, Harbeson. Opened in 2021, the facility allows Dewey Beer Company to brew up to 10,000 barrels a year, with the capacity to expand up to 25,000 in the future. The brewing location also includes a canning line and a tasting room with 45 indoor and 45 outdoor seats.
Dewey Beer Company employs 30 full-time employees and 45 part time during the summer beach season, along with an additional 37 seasonal co-workers that join the team between the two locations. In 2022, Dewey Beer raised more than $118,000 for local charities and supported many nonprofits in the area.
