The Dirty Pour to launch in July
The Dirty Pour is set to debut at its first pop-up event Saturday, July 19, during Luau Fest at Sandhill Fields in Georgetown.
This new business will offer a variety of dirty sodas, dirty energy drinks and loaded waters with a western kick across all of Delaware. The dirty sodas comprise soda, a flavor shot, and cream or puree. The dirty energy drinks are a combination of Monster or Alani Nu, a flavor shot, and cream or puree. For a refreshing alternative, the loaded waters comprise water, coconut water, electrolytes, Poppi and flavor.
The Dirty Pour is owned by Georgetown’s Brooke Payton, former federal law enforcement personnel and a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. The idea for the business came during a family vacation to Arizona, where Payton discovered the area’s popular dirty soda trend. Due to the large Mormon population, whose religious beliefs typically prevent coffee consumption, dirty sodas have become a common alternative. One of the most well-known spots, Swig, was a favorite of Payton and her family.
“We were on a four-day trip,” said Payton. “And we probably went six times.”
Payton realized Delaware didn’t have anything like that and thought it would be really cool to bring a dirty soda business to the area. She felt it would fit right in with the local community. Payton explained that The Dirty Pour offers something fun for all ages – a concept she considers refreshingly unique.
The Dirty Pour hopes to continue to grow and participate in many more pop-up events, weddings, birthdays and other occasions. Plus, the business recently purchased a trailer that will be renovated to help serve more customers in the near future. There are high hopes for The Dirty Pour, and if the company takes off, it will look to acquire an official location featuring a walk-up window and drive-thru.
“This is a family-run business where everyone can come together,” said Payton. “We are excited to bring something like this to this community.”
