Disappointing Super Bowl

February 13, 2026

The Seattle Seahawks dominated Super Bowl LX winning by the score of 29-13. It wasn’t even that close. The Patriots scored their last points very deep in the fourth quarter. I felt bad for the Patriots’ defense because they actually played well in the game, but the offense did not show up. The offensive line gave up seven sacks in the game. They gave quarterback Drake Maye no consistent protection. He was definitely struggling more than he had let on, due to the shoulder injury from the AFC Championship. I thought it was nice to see that running back Kenneth Walker III was named the MVP of the game. Most of the time the MVP is given to the quarterback on the winning team.

Next year, the NFC West is going to be the best division in the NFL again with the Seahawks, 49ers and Rams.

Most people that read this are aware of my involvement in the 1996 Olympics as a touch bearer. So I try and watch as much Olympic coverage when it's happening. So far, I have watched curling, hockey, figure skating, downhill skiing, ice dancing, individual figure skating and snowboarding, and I’m enjoying it immensely. USA network, NBC and Peacock have all the coverage.

The all-star break will officially start in the NBA on Friday and last about a week. I am very confused about the 76ers’ prospects for the rest of the season since in the last two weeks they have lost two games by almost 50 points each, and then played some very impressive games as well. Their last game before the break was embarrassing to watch because they lost to their rival, the New York Knicks, by 49 points by the ridiculous score of 138-89 at home. Just because Joel Embiid didn't play the last two games before the break is not an excuse to perform like that. They are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings, which is the last non-play-in position for the playoffs. The team better look themselves in the mirror during the break and get their act together.

Spring training for baseball has started. I’ll begin talking about the Phillies next week. That always helps me feel that spring is closer. Enough of this cold and snow, thank you!

Go USA!
