Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company and Eastern Shore Ducks Unlimited held the Lucky 7 Sportsman’s Bash March 9 at Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. It was a sold-out event.
Live and silent auctions, raffles, 50/50 drawing, games and great food were the order of the evening, as a prize was chosen every seven minutes.
The Sportsman’s Bash is a joint effort to support both organizations. Over the past four years, the event has grown. This year’s estimate of the fire company’s share will be more than $70,000.
“This event is becoming a Sussex County tradition, as we have families, hunters and sportsmen alike coming and enjoying a fun event,” said Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company President Mike Simpler. “The funds stay local and will help the Rehoboth Beach Fire Company purchase of a new ladder truck. Overall, I feel the event was a great success, because of all our volunteers and sponsors who care about the community they live in.”
