Elite Detailing takes it to the 100th degree

It's the time of year when people are cleaning so they can go cruising and camping in style this summer. Elite Detailing, a new mobile car wash and detailing service, can help with that process.

Open seven days a week, Elite Detailing is located off Lewes-Georgetown Highway in the Route 9 Industrial Park, about a mile west of the waving mermaid near the intersection with Route 30.

Owner Ozzie Kara opened the new detailing shop in January. After spending two decades in the restaurant business, he decided to try something new. There’s a definite need in the area for a detailing service, he said.

The shop has wet and dry bays. The wet bay can easily hold a few cars, while the dry bay, where the real detail work happens after passing through initial detailing, is a single bay.

His service takes a minimum of four hours, and that’s with two employees, said Kara. It can take longer in other cases, he said.

“The owners with dogs, those cars can take a while,” said Kara, laughing, while adding that the extra time and attention is worth it. “We bring things back to life.”

Derrick Robinson, office manager, said Elite Detailing is much more than a car wash. The car will still need to be washed in the future, but it’s a whole lot easier, he said.

“It’s like washing and waxing your car to the 100th degree,” said Robinson.

In addition to cars and trucks, Elite Detailing also details boats and RVs, and offers home power washing. Kara said they also do window tinting and paint protection films.

Robinson said they’re working with local houses of worship to raise money for churches. He said the idea is that they’ll show up Sunday morning during service, people pay a certain amount to get the exterior cleaned while the service is happening, and then all the money goes back to the church.
