Elks support equine therapy for veterans

Cape Henlopen Elks Veterans Committee members recently visited the stables at Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding to present a check of $1,000 to support its eight-week equine program for veterans.
The volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization offers veterans a free program to promote their health and well being while connecting with other veterans in an encouraging positive environment. Participants develop a calming connection with horses through hands-on interaction and communication, and learn basic horse care and groundwork skills.
