Event co-chairs David Streit and Scott Button said the event raised about $16,000 that will be used to support Epworth's community outreach programs. Streit, who heads up Epworth's food pantry, said, "Funds are needed now especially as the number of people being served is growing, over 14,000, in the past year."
Epworth is also home to the Food & Love Soup Kitchen, which has been providing hot meals and fellowship for the past 14 years, and Food Rescue, which has collected this year over 160 tons of food in good condition that would otherwise have been thrown away.
