Expert angler to discuss best fishing spots March 22

March 12, 2025

Eric Burnley, a local author and outdoorsman, will discuss the best places to fish during a presentation from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 22, at Millsboro Public Library, 217 West State St., Millsboro.

Burnley is a Delaware native who has fished and hunted from an early age. Since 1978, he has written countless articles about hunting and fishing in Delaware and elsewhere along the Atlantic Coast. He has been the regional editor for several publications and was the founding editor of the Mid-Atlantic Fisherman magazine. Burnley is the author of three books: “Surf Fishing the Atlantic Coast,” “The Ultimate Guide to Striped Bass Fishing” and “Fishing Saltwater Baits.”

“We have an overabundance of opportunities with our proximity to the ocean, yet it is important to remember that Delaware has more than 30 freshwater lakes and ponds in which to cast lines,” said library Assistant Director Anthony Connolly. “With so many new and experienced anglers living in the area, Eric is sure to have tips for every person who attends.”
